By Virginia law, certified death certificates have restricted access to family members and their legal representatives for 50 years from the date of the death. Genealogical research is available at the Archives Division of the Library of Virginia.
For a Virginia Death Certificates, please print and complete the appropriate form, enclose a copy of a valid government issued photo ID, and send a money order or check (payable to the State Health Department) to the name and address below. |
