Between 1867 and December 1908, birth and death records were kept by the probate court of each county. There is not statewide index to Ohio birth and death records prior to December 1908. Certified copies of marriage records are available from the Probate Court in the county where the marriage license was issued. Certified copies of divorce records are available from the Clerk of Common Pleas in the county where the divorce was granted.
